Law Services - What is temporary protection in EU countries and how does it differ from refugee status?

1. What is the difference between refugee status and EU asylum for Ukrainians?
If you have independent livelihoods in the EU, it is better to take temporary protection, because it allows you to work in the EU.
In turn, refugee status entitles you to social and material support, but prohibits you from working for 6 months.
2. What does temporary protection provide? And how long can I be there in that status?
Temporary protection provides an opportunity
– legally stay in the EU for 1 year (depending on the situation in the world can be extended up to 3 years);
– have access to medicine and education at the citizen level;
possibility of official employment.
Also, if necessary, you can ask for help in obtaining housing.
